Labeling of Textiles
Definition
The German law of textile-labeling is a national adaptation of the regulation of
the European Community, concerning the labeling of any kind of textiles. It is obligatory
to industry, dealer and consumers. It controls all designations on the quantity of the
integrated basic components of all textile-products, offered to the final consumers
(which are approx. 80% of all products, made of textile raw materials)
The main-objective of this law is to inform the final consumer about the components of
the raw-material of a product, that he is going to buy, and the relevant quantities of the
different components. It provides precisely the names of the different filaments, describes
the relevant weight-portion and obliges to give precise information on the quantity of
raw-material with their exact designations. With §8 of this law the labeling of products
with mixed textile-types is regulated.*1)
As mentioned at other pages, this homepage is not a product-catalog for sales and the exposed
models are not buyable via an internet direct mail-order-system. The main-objective of these
pages is to demonstrate the design-possibilities of new models under the view of variations with
different fashion-styles as well as to show the effect of different materials.
In so far, the labeling of the used materials has only a preventive character. A
demonstration of the expected or offered material-mix will be verbally given with a
consultation. At this date, the customer will get not only all information on the components
(information on the pre-supplier for instance), but he can convince her/himself also on the
quality (eye-view, feeling) of the offered material. Also the customer can present her/his
own materials (fabrics, leather etc.).
If in the descriptions of the models, presented with the previous pages, no other material is mentioned,
only and exclusively fabrics of the following product-list are used. The given information and descriptions
on fiber/filament-mixtures are related to the final fabric. The quantity of the related fiber-component has
to be seen all time with 100%.
